Wrapping up 2025

Finally this year is over. 😭

It has been exactly a year since I started blogging.
I an obviously not satified with my blogging patterns but I’m still proud of all my thoughts which I ended up vocalizing in form of my posts. And My website def changed a lot

I met so many new people who helped me change as a person, and learn so many new things.
There was a person who I wish I could’ve carried over into 2026 but life has different plans for us it seems. Still I love them and hope 2026 is kind to them.

I tried a keeping some long hair this year, but only for 7 months, iirc.
I feel like I’m not ready for it yet. maybe 2026 is the year of shoulder length hair savy???

I found the love of my life this year, Svelte!!
Learning svelte really re-sparked my love for web-development and I was able to re-shape my thinking the web just based of the ecosystem and the community alone.
I completed two projects, both about Weeekly lol. 🤭
I released my first package this year too, made contributions to other people’s projects, worked in teams in new projects (even tho we ended up abandoning them 😔).
I was still not able to complete some projects which I really wanted to finish but I guess 2026 it is, for them.
I wonder what next year brings in me terms of my career and just programming in general. finger’s crossed lol.

I’ve always been anxious of my voice so I don’t really sing at all. But this year I tried to at least change something. I started out with humming to music and whistling. Apart from just helping me get comfortable with my voice, I think it has also helped me with stay somewhat calm and not “always-on-the-edge-of-my-seat”. So that is a small win.

October was def the wierdest month cause it feel so hectic but i barely had stuff to doo????. I had my midterm exams for the first two weeks. They went “eh”, but I missed the exam for CAD/CAM cause I got sick. I tried to talk with the professor for a re-test but he declined cause he couldn’t bother cooking up a whole exam for a single student.
Then for the next two, I went back to my village. I have very limited internet connectivity there, so I couldn’t really waste my time doom-scrolling Instagram or Twitter.
So instead, I re-wrote my website using SvelteKit. I’ve been meaning to do this for quite some time, the older Astro one was alright but I was beginning to face issues with implementing a lot of new things. Not to count I was starting to hate JSX. It’s just hideous. There is no other way to put it. It doesn’t feel like templating at all. Svelte is just perfect. But I digress, I’ve been planning to put out a blog post after why and how I redid my website in SvelteKit. Me being Me, it’s still being procrastinated. I’ll try to get it out as soon as possible.

Academically it was a disaster. I barely passed my first semester. It was a shitshow. Second semester wasn’t that bad either but it was still not my greatest finish.
I just pray that I don’t suck this bad in 2026.
One small win is that all the people who “left” me to be with me Uni Opp ended up leaving her this year. 😎
I dropped her out of my friend list during my 2nd month at Uni lol.
None of them had good experiences with her. I Guess I was just wayyy ahead of the curve.

I emailed a lot this year!
I’ve always been anxious on what to write in emails but this year I learned to just fuck-it-we-ball email, and just write as I would talk to that person irl. Thanks to this, I was able to talk to sooo many cool people, including my idols (not k-pop idols) lol.

TV and Movies

But the TV Show which really stuck with me were G.T.O.: Great Teacher Onizuka, and She Loves to Cook and She Loves to Eat.
GTO is a rather uncomfy watch, cause Onizuka is a very preverted person who became a teacher just so that he could drool over adolescent girl. The TV Version obviously tones these elements down cause, apart from being very uncomfortable and out-of-taste, they just don’t translate well to any media outside of Manga or Anime. GTO manages to turn them down in the later episodes and becomes a show which just makes you feel hopeful about life and people.
I’ll be honest, I watch SLCSLE just for the cooking. But I ended up staying for the cozy storyline. A very comfy and heartwarming watch. <3

And as for Movies, I watch wayy more movies than I usually watch in a year.
I watch Pattinson’s Batman for the first time, and I loved every second of it. Then came in Superman which really changed me as a person. And I Discovered my Favourite Movie of all time, Postman Blues, which I saw for i think 7-8 time within a span of two month, and that is super wild for me LOL.
Happy Old Year was another love movie and I find myself thinking about it every now and then.
and finally Haru, connecting with people over a textual medium over common interest really resonates with be cause some of my bestest friends very made this way. I really want to rewatch this cause there was sooooo much reading and I’m pretty sure I missed some details here and there.

Music

Now my favourite section of them all. MUSIC.
This year was def huge for me, I discovered a lot of new music, which was not limited to K-Pop or English-Language music.

I had Airi's album in my backlog since last year (2024) but I found it while scrolling through my library on apple music. The lead single is a real banger and she is such a cutie pie in the MV. I ended up watching the show for which this is the title track to. It was kinda corny but still very cute. I honestly wanted to feature "heartnotes". It's just such a pretty song 🥺, but like I said in the start of this section, listen to the rest of the album too.

Wrapping Up

In short, 2025 was a wild year but it’s still doesn’t feel quite fulfilling to me cause I really had one MAIN objective which I haven’t locked down yet. (That was to get an Internship). And a lot of regrets but I guess they exist in each year haha. But yea, looking back, this year will really have a very special place in my heart.

Well for 2026, I’m not really wishing for much. But I’m still wishing nonetheless.
I hope:

• I’m able to lose some weight cause I never imagined me to have a fat tummy and it has just made me feel awful about me at times.
• Start earning in some way?
• Don’t tank my college
• Make projects which give me the sense of achievement which I haven’t felt since idk how long.
• Be a better friend, cause I feel think I’ve gotten lazy and somewhat unreliable at that. 😔
• and finally, Meet even more lovely people. <3
