I HATE DIWALI!!!!

I HATE CELEBRATING DIWALI IN THIS COUNTRY SO MUCH.

Hearing these firecracking going off every 5 second interval gives me a headache, I can’t.

My Grandma was watching the news the other day and apparantly, the government lifted a 10 year-old ban on firecrackers in New Delhi. And people were literally drooling at this. People saying shit like “Our current Hindu government is uplifting our community by letting us finally celebrate our festival the way we want to”, and “We are finally getting to celebrate a Hindu religion in a Hindu-Rashtra¹”.
Like What the fuck??????
This is a secular country, and No one was stopped from celebrating diwali. Where even is this sentiment coming from? I’m just so confused. It just makes me so furious, I just can’t with these people. 😭

Even bigger buffons are the youngster who were drolling and bragging over spending over 30K on crackers (and they planned on dropping 40K more). I mean, It’s your money, do what you want to do, But the pollution from these firecrackers is going to affect me so I gotta speak up about this.

PLUS, people here have zero civic sense. So, ofcourse, they will try to throw lit bombs on other people and animals, harass women and children and trying to excuse their behaviour by saying “we are just celebrating diwali”.

Fortunately, the people around me have never been like that, and share a mutual hate for firecrackers.
But still I just can’t wait to get away from these people.
