I won't take LinkedIn seriously

League of Legends rank up screen. It has the text 'Promoted to Bronze IV' in Ranked Solo/Duo mode. and my gamertag 'Savy011#LSJ' I love Nunu & Willump, Trundle and Mundo so much. 🥰

I hit Bronze rank in League the other day (for the 4th time lol). And this time, I remembered to take a screenshot of rank-up screen.“Why?” you may ask..
To post on LinkedIn. 😼

I saw a meme of someone posting about ranking up to challenger rank some time last year, and a lot of post about reaching 10,000 trophies in Clash Royale (cause it’s back apparantly).
I don’t really like trying too hard to look “serious” about what I like to do. Software Engg. being one of it. So, I’ve tried to keep my LinkedIn profile very casual. But turns out I’m not the only one.

I really see this as a form of rebellion. Even though it’s a professional setting, putting up a fake facade just to please the other person, or to give the impression that I am a normal person, just doesn’t sit right with me anymore. It’s not something which I want to continue doing. Especially cause it has done me no good, other than making me feel bad about myself.

Here’s the post btw 😆

🎮 Small Win Worth Sharing: Bronze Rank Achieved 🏆

Spring 2024—that’s when I picked up League of Legends for the first time. Playing on and off since then, I finally hit Bronze rank in the Ranked Solo/Duo mode, playing mostly in the jungle role.

Let me be real: Bronze isn’t impressive. Most players would consider this below average at best. But coming from someone who didn’t even understand what jungle camps were just over a year ago, I’ll take the W.

The journey through champions:

  • Started out with Xin Zhao, aggressive, straightforward, perfect for a beginner. (Rest in peace, G.O.A.T 😔)
  • Found my footing with Nunu & Willump, who taught me map presence and objective control.
  • Learned the art of ganking with Darius, diving lanes and making plays happen.
  • Picked up tempo and farming patterns with Karthus.
  • Developed consistency with Trundle, clears aren’t great, but he’s a dueling monster.
  • And now? Ending strong with Mundo, sometimes suffers early but becomes an absolute monster post-level 11.

Each champion taught me something different about the role. I definitely chased the meta and one-tricked each of them for a while, learning through focused repetition rather than spreading myself too thin.

The takeaway? You don’t need to be the best. You just need to be better than you were yesterday. Bronze today, Silver tomorrow. The climb continues.

Yeah, I refuse to take that platform seriously. No matter what anyone says to me.
